Information for the presenter

Your participation in EuroSys’20 sessions will be as a Panelist in a Zoom webinar. Presenters will interact with two types of participants:

  • Session chair, Panelists that will orchestrate live Q&A after your talk and during open discussion.
  • Attendees, view-only participants who will be mostly muted. Attendees will be unmuted by the session chair to ask a question.

Here is a list of tasks and TODO actions in preparation of chairing a EuroSys’20 session:

Pre-conference training:

  • If this is your first experience as a Zoom webinar panelist, you may want to read this
  • Coordinate with Session chair on the dedicated private Slack channel #mgmt-sessionX

During the conference, prior to joining the session:

  • Ensure you are on a high-bandwidth Internet connection
  • Ping your Session chair on the dedicated private channel on Slack (#mgmt-sessionX)
  • Monitor management channel on Slack for important information by your Session chair
  • Join Zoom session using emailed link before your session starts (synchronize with your Session chair via Slack)

During the session:

  • During your presentation:
    • You will be introduced by the Session chair and your presentation will be played
  • As soon as the presentation video ends, you will participate in live Q&A
    • After a question, you should unmute and respond to it
  • After all presentations done, the floor will open for general discussion and Q&A
